About Supabase

Who is Supabase?

Supabase is the open-source Postgres development platform, founded in 2020 and built by developers for developers. The platform bundles a full Postgres database with Authentication (Row-Level-Security-first), instant RESTful APIs, Edge Functions, Realtime, Storage, and Vector search so teams can build in a weekend and scale to millions. Supabase has raised $500M in funding, with a community of 540,000+ members and over 1,500 open-source contributors. The company is SOC 2 Type 2 certified, HIPAA compliant, and ISO 27001 certified.

Where will I work?

Supabase is born-remote with 280+ team members across 55+ countries, speaking 20+ languages. The company has no offices — instead, every team member gets a co-working membership they can use anywhere in the world. The team operates asynchronously, with most coordination happening via Notion, Slack, Discord and GitHub. Live roles span Solutions Architecture (AMER, APAC, EMEA), Customer Reliability Engineering, Support Engineering, Sales (AMER, EMEA, APAC, LATAM), Marketing, Engineering (Postgres, Auth, CLI, SDK, Compute), Design, Platform Ops, Finance and Operations — virtually all remote, with regional anchor expectations on some roles.

What is the Supabase team like?

Supabase deeply believes in collaborative open source, 'strengthening — never replacing — the Postgres ecosystem'. The team focuses on five traits to stay effective as a fully remote async organisation: Egoless (team goals first), Polyglot (broad skillsets and growth mindset), Process-driven (automate repeatable tasks; engineer yourself out of the job), Intellectual honesty (seek truth, challenge assumptions, bias-check decisions), and Kaizen mindset (continuously improve). The company runs an annual off-site each year in a different city — a highlight of the year — and ships continuously, building in public on Twitter/GitHub.

Work-Life Balance

Fully remote means truly distributed work — async-first, with team members managing their own schedules. Health benefits are paid 100% for employees and 80% for dependants regardless of location. The annual off-site is the primary in-person touchpoint, with the rest of the year coordinated via Notion/Slack/Discord. JDs include: 'We operate asynchronously and trust you to manage your own time. You know what needs to be done and when.'
